Acetylcholine Defined

A chemical in the brain that improves nerve communication. Most people with Alzheimer's disease show a deficiency in this chemical. It's believed that a handful of FDA-approved drugs can help increase the brain's supply of acetylcholine, which can potentially alleviate some of the symptoms of AD.

In SIDS, Smoking During Pregnancy A 'Double-Edged Sword'

Premature infants whose mothers smoked during pregnancy may be at even higher risk for sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) than preemies whose mothers did not smoke, according to new research out of the University of Calgary.
